A Chasen is a bamboo whisk used for mixing powdered tea, specifically matcha, with hot water. They are carved from a single piece of bamboo and vary in terms of the type of bamboo, shape of the tines, number of tines, thickness and length of the bamboo, and the color of the thread woven around the bamboo.
